Project Description

The Kalamazoo Valley Museum contains interactive exhibits and programs that focus on regional history, science, and technology. There are permanent on general science, the history of Southwest Michigan, and art/technology exhibits which demonstrate geophysical phenomenon of our region. A special exhibition, "Inside the Looking Lens", explores the art and science of photography, September 1999 through February 6, 2000. Then, from March 11 through June 4, 2000, an exhibition "Altered States" will explore the history of substance use and abuse in America. Educator's guides are available for both exhibitions.

Target Group: students, general public
Grade Level: All grades
Number: Approximately no more than 80 people at a time (one hour blocks) in the special exhibition area, larger groups acceptable in permanent exhibition areas.
Cost: General admission to the Museum and special exhibitions is free.
Dates: Open: Mon., Tues., Thurs., Fri, Sat.
10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Wed. 10:00 a.m. until 9:00
Sun. 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
School groups admitted M-F at 9:00 a.m.
