Project Description

The Challenger Learning Center is an innovative educational facility complete with a 21st century space station simulator and realistic mission control. This is a hands-on simulation designed to foster interest in math, science, technology, and communication skills. Two scenarios will be offered in the '98-'99 school year: the new "Voyage to Mars" and "Encounter Earth". Teacher workshops designed to enhance your students' experience are offered in the fall and winter. Call for details.

Target Group: teachers, students, groups
Grade Level: middle school and up
Number: minimum of 18 required to run a missions; maximum of 28-30
Cost: $3.00/student (non-school groups call for fees)
Dates: Challenger missions generally begin at 9:00 and 1:00 Monday-Friday
Museum hours: Open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Wednesday 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
School groups admitted M-F at 9:00 a.m.
