Fred McLinden Nature Trails

Fred McLinden Nature Trails was established in 1984. The trails are located on H Avenue.  Hikers, cross country skiers, bikers, and horseback riders are among those who use the nature trails. Fred McLinden Nature Trails are located near Comstock`s Robert Morris Park and Echo Valley, also located on H Avenue. The park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week .  So stop by on your way home from swimming at Robert Morris Park or from sledding at Echo Valley. You can go any time. A wonderful time to go is in the fall because all the pretty colors.

Fred McLinden

They named the park after the late Fred McLinden. Mr.McLinden came to this area in 1932 .  He operated a tree nursery until 1965. Then he turned it into an arboretum.  At the same time he became parks director.    Mr.McLinden died at the age of 67 in 1978 .
