Hi! I recently visited your site and I have found it to be most
interesting... I am a distant, VERY distant relative of H.H. Comstock...
and I have very little information on him... what you have provided has
been a large help... I don't have much to share but what I can tell you is
that I have scanned images of some letters that he wrote to his sister,
Rocepha Comstock Trippe, after the death of his wife, Sarah Sabina Cooper,
niece of James Fennimore Cooper, the author of Last of the Mohicans (I
believe), as well as a biography of his son, William Averill Comstock, who
was a scout for General Custer... He was known as the Buffalo Bill Comstock
and actually had a buffalo shooting match with Bill Cody for the title of
"Buffalo Bill" as you probaly guess Cody won... but I have his bio on the
internet with a picture of him if you are interested in that kind of
thing... it can be found at: http://members.iquest.net/~alsal/ace.html It
is a part of my Comstock genealogy page. I hope
you enjoy the biography of William Averill Comstock... Best of luck with
your webpage and enjoy!
