Comstock   Manor

Comstock  Manor  is  the  house  that  Horace   Hawkins  Comstock  lived  in  when  he discovered   Comstock.  This is one of the oldest,  most  historic  homes   in  Kalamazoo  County and was  completed  in  1832.

The  house  was  sold   to  J.  Morris  Cooper  {relative  to  the  novelist   James  Fennimore Cooper}. Then  it  was  sold   to  Jerome  Roony,  who  named  it  "The  Hotel   Comstock." Afterwards,  it was sold  to  Charles  Barns,  who  renamed it  "Brookside" because  of   its  location  on  Comstock  Creek.  The   house  was   the  center  of  social  gatherings  in  the   early  half  of  the 20th  century. The  current  owners  are  the   Beauchamp   family.
