School Life
Dr. Hamet is one of the most important people in the Comstock school district. Dr. Hamet was once a teacher. He has been the superintendent of the Comstock Public Schools for 24 years and will retire at the end of the 2000-2001 school year. He says that the people he likes best are the staff of the schools, the parents, the students and the community. If he could change the schools, he would upgrade them so the students and staff have access to the best possible learning environments and educational resources.
Hobbies/Personal Life
Dr. Hamet's hobbies are family vacations,
reading; (especially biographies and philosophy), gardening, golf, exercising, spectator
sports, collecting sports memorabilia, and investing in the stock market. He likes
to read educational books, magazines, research reports, and books about spiritualism and
religion. Some of Dr. Hamet's favorite things are: fish, pasta, football, the
Discovery Channel, and A & E.
Dr. Hamet is really proud of his family, especially his wife, Carol. His birthday is
June 28, 1939. Dr. Hamet has four children: Amy 33, Molly 30, Peter 24, and Ryan 18.
He believes that the most important part of living is building positive
relationships with family, friends and others.
Sport Life
Dr. Hamet played baseball. He started playing Little League when he was 12. During his high school years he played with the school team. During the summer he played American Legion baseball, but he didn't stop there. At WMU he got a scholarship to play baseball for four years. He was a pitcher with the White Sox organization for three years from 1961-1963.
