Mr.Buhro's father was a part-time farmer and a school custodian. His mother took care of the children at home. Mr. Buhro has three children, one son and two daughters. His son became a chemistry professor at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. One of his daughters became a human resource consultant. Mr. Bill Buhro
Mr. Buhro has worked in the Comstock Public Schools for 40 years. He was a math and science teacher. He was an assistant principal at Comstock Middle School in 1968. In 1971 Mr.Buhro became a principal at Comstock North Elementary. He left North and became principal at West Elementary and Green Meadow. He returned to North and has been principal there ever since. He was also a director of curriculum.
Mr.Buhro thinks North Elementary is a place where parents, teachers, secretaries, custodian, noon helpers, bus drives, paraprofessionals, and volunteers all care about children. It is the kind of school Mr. Buhro would like his children or grandchildren to attend. Mr.Buhro likes helping the teachers have the things that they need to do a good job. He enjoys seeing children who are happy and proud of what they have done and learned.
Mr. Buhro will be retiring in the year 2000. His plan for retirement are to travel, see his grandchildren more, volunteer at his church, garden, ride his 10 speed bike, do some wood working, and write stories about his childhood for his grandchildren.
Mr.Buhro says, A big "THANK YOU" to all the people who have made North Elementary a good place to be. |
