Mr. Cooperr

Mr. Cooper was an understanding, problem-solving principal at North Elementary. He was always willing to listen to students. Once you got to know him, you found he was a hard working leader who cared for his students.

In 2004, Mr. Cooper started an anti-bullying program because he wanted students to feel safe and secure at this school. Before the school year started Mr. Cooper had given us a pledge to sign. We signed it as a pledge not to bully other students. We also say a compassionate pledge in the morning that reminds us not to bully other students.

Mr. Cooper has had many years of experience. Before college Mr. Cooper was a construction worker and he was also a soldier for three years. In those years he went to college at Western Michigan University. After he finished college in 1976, he taught Y-5, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. His favorite grade was 3rd grade. Mr. Cooper was principal at Comstock North Elementary from 2000 until 2004. He enjoyed being principal here because he loved the people, especially the children that he interacted with every day.

Mr. Cooper is interested in many different things. His favorite books are The Cay, Summer of Monkeys, and all of Roald Dahl's books. So you probably guessed his favorite author is Roald Dahl. Mr. Cooper enjoys Star Wars movies. His favorite foods are pizza, steak, and oatmeal raisin cookies. He likes the restaurant University Roadhouse. Mr. Cooper's hobbies are listening to CDs, recording music, and reading educational magazines. His favorite CD is David Gray's White Ladder.
