The New Fire Station

In May 2001, Comstock built its third fire station. They built the third fire station to protect the people and businesses in the east part of the township. We need three fire stations to protect and serve the people of Comstock better. The third fire station is located at 8700 East Michigan in the center of the township.

Not many people come and see the fire station because it is so far out of town. The Comstock East Fire Station doesn't get as many calls to save people as the other fire stations.

There are three people working most of the time at the third fire station. The chief, Wally Culver takes care of the fire trucks. Dorothy Dywas is the secretary who makes sure everything is in order. Then there's Mike Kessler the custodian, who cleans up everything. They are important people. The Watts Constriction Company built the third fire station of Comstock.

The new fire station has a giant garage. Wally said about four fire trucks can fit in one garage. That's a lot of fire trucks just to fit in one garage. There are two grass fire trucks, one pumper, and one ladder truck. They have one very special piece of equipment. It is called the Jaws of Life. It is a special piece of equipment that can rip off a car door to get the person in the car out without hurting them.

Tell your friends and family to be safe. You are allowed to go to the fire station any time you wish except for when they are on calls. Come and see the fire station, the firemen are waiting for you!
