During the beginning of fall it is a little warm and later the leaves start falling and it starts getting cold. September to October the average high temperature drops from 75 degrees to 60 degrees. November to December it drops from 50 degrees to 35 degrees. The coldest weather we have had is -51*F or -46* C. The hottest temperature has been 112*F or 44* C.
Since the Great Lakes are so big they change our weather. In the winter the cold air comes across the water and picks up moisture from the warmer water. It drops it on the cold lakeshore in the form of snow. By the time winter is ending the water is cold, so it takes awhile to warm itself. This cools off the air that comes over the lakes during the summer. Then, by the end of summer, the water is warm, and it also takes awhile to cool itself down.
