Lyons Lake

Lyons Lake is a small lake in Comstock, Michigan.  It is located in Comstock Township across from the high school near the East Main and 26th Street intersection. It is 822 feet above sea level, and its deepest point is 45 feet. Its exact location is 421827N, 0853040W.

Here are some interesting facts about Lyons Lake. It has 20 pound pike, and all of the lakes in Comstock including Lyons Lake drain into the Kalamazoo River.

Lyons Lake is a kettle hole lake. A kettle hole lake is a lake formed by a glacier. The kettle hole is formed by the  glacial drift. Glacial drift is a combination of dirt, rock, ice and boulders that are left behind by the glacier. The chunks of ice make a round pit and the ice melts and water goes into the pit.
